Computer Refresher Training for Blind and Visually Impaired Women

Access Planet Organization, with the support of Global Fund for Women, conducted 6-day training titled “Computer Refresher Training for visually impaired girls and young women” in Kathmandu, Bagmati Province. This training aimed at providing visually impaired girls and young women with a refresher on computer skills. The training was facilitated by Gargi Nepal, the president of Access Planet Organization.
Objectives:
The main objectives of the training are as follows:
- To refresh the computer skills of participants, addressing any knowledge gaps that may have arisen due to the extended break.
- To provide access to technology for visually impaired women, empowering them to utilize it effectively.
- To enable easier access to quality education and economic empowerment through the use of technology, particularly for those preparing for government jobs.
The training focused on enhancing knowledge and skills in English/Nepali typing, computer management, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and internet usage, Google search, document formatting, and other applications and software essential for education and employment.
Outcomes:
- To refresh the computer skills of participants, addressing any knowledge gaps that may have arisen due to the extended break.
- To provide access to technology for visually impaired women, empowering them to utilize it effectively.
