Interaction on Way Forward for Enhancing Access to Inclusive Education and Assistive Technology for Girls and Young Women with Disabilities.
Access Planet Organization in support of the Disability Rights Fund (DRF) organized an interaction program on the topic- “Way Forward for Enhancing Access to Inclusive Education and Assistive Technology for Girls and Young Women with Disabilities”. This interaction program was organized in Alpha House, Baneshwor, Kathmandu. Honorable Sobita Gautam, a Member of the Parliament was invited as the chief guest in the interaction program along with the presence of around 40 different stakeholders from the education sector and representatives of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and other disability rights activists. The main objectives of the program is to share the achievements of the project: “Fostering Access to Inclusive Education and Assistive Technology for Girls and Young Women with Disabilities” that was conducted last year in 2022 A.D.

“Orientation on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights to Girls with Disabilities.(Lumbini Province)”
Access Planet Organization organized one-day orientation Program on “Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights to deaf and hard of hearing girls” at Shree Bahira Balmandir School, Bhairahawa (Lumbini Province). Twenty four Deaf and hard hearing girls from the school participated in the orientation program. The orientation program was conducted with the funding support of Women’s Fund Asia.

Advocacy Interaction with Educational Stakeholders of Kailali District on Issues and Way Forward for Enhancing Access to Education for Girls and Young Women with Disabilities
Access Planet Organization in the support of Disability Rights Fund organized half day advocacy program with the education related stakeholders of Kailali district :: Dhangadhi Submetropolitan City and Godawari Municipality on “Issues and Way Forward for Enhancing Access to Education for Girls and Young Women with Disabilities.” This interaction program was organized in Sunlight Hotel, Park Mode Dhangadhi with the presence of 45 participants from across different sectors including municipal education chiefs, Women and Child Development Officer, parents, teachers, principles, female students with disabilities and representatives of organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs).

Advocacy Interaction with Stakeholders of Bhaktapur District on Issues and Way Forward for Enhancing Access to Education for Girls and Young Women with Disabilities
Access Planet Organization in the support of Disability Rights Fund organized half day advocacy program with the stakeholders of Bhaktapur district on “Issues and Way Forward for Enhancing Access to Education for Girls and Young Women with Disabilities" aiming of at handing over advocacy manifesto to the local stakeholders which was prepared by the organization compiling issues of the girls and young women with disabilities in education and the solution proposed. Along with that it also aimed at sensitizing the stakeholders on the issues that girls and young women with disabilities faced in achieving quality education and access to technology.

Computer Class in Guru Jajur Secondary School(Dang, Lumbini Province)
Access Planet Organization has conducted 3 months computer training from July, 2022 to visually impaired students who are studying in Shree Guru Jajur Secondary School of Rakshachaur of Dang in the partnership with Global Fund for Women and the school administration. The main objective of this program was to make it accessible for blind children specially girls to get inclusive education by providing them technological capacity development.

Delegation Visit to Municipality Office of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City, for policy review of “Municipal Education Act” from the perspective of girls and women with disabilities.
Access Planet organization organized a delegation visit program with the representatives of the Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city with the proposed suggestion for the review of the Municipal Education Act of this sub-metropolitan city. This program was aimed to promote access to inclusive and quality education for girls and women with disabilities in accordance with national and international laws by revising the Education Act of Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city.

Issue Identification Workshop on Education and Access to Technology for Girls and Young Women with Disabilities
ccess Planet Organization under leadership of advocacy committee of Kathmandu valley, conducted one day ‘Issue Identification Workshop on Education and Access to Technology for Girls and Young Women with Disabilities’ on 22nd June 2022 in Bhaktapur. The program made sure that people from a variety of backgrounds, including students with disabilities, their parents, teachers who work with girls with disabilities in the classroom, and representatives of organizations involved in the disability rights sector, participated. 41 participants were able to present about the rights relating to education for girls and women with disabilities.
