Hospitality Training at Pokhara

Access Planet successfully conducted a 20-day Hospitality Training for women with disabilities in Kaski. The training was held from June 10 to June 30, 2026, with the generous support of FRIDA.

The closing ceremony was held on July 8, 2026, under the chairpersonship of Ms. Laxmi Nepal, Executive Director of Access Planet, with Mr. Laxman Subedi, President of the Hotel Association Pokhara, serving as the Chief Guest. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Arjun Neupane, Officer at the Social Development Council of Pokhara Metropolitan City; Mr. Bishnu Gurung, tourism entrepreneur and social campaigner; Mr. Keshav Bhandari, Managing Director of Hotel Pauwa; along with several other tourism entrepreneurs and stakeholders from Pokhara's hospitality sector. The Program was moderated by Ms. Aasha Magar.

Objectives:

  • To sensitize tourism entrepreneurs to adopt inclusive hiring practices by creating employment opportunities for persons with disabilities in the hospitality sector.
  • To cherish the successful completion of the training by awarding certificates to the participants.

Outcomes:

  • Enhanced awareness among employers regarding inclusive hiring practices, resulting in commitments from Hotel Association Pokhara to consider qualified persons with disabilities for employment opportunities.
  • Established a pathway for future job placement and internship opportunities through collaboration with Hotel Associations Pokhara
  • Promoted positive attitudes towards disability inclusion in the workplace by demonstrating the skills, capabilities, and potential of women with disabilities in hospitality-related occupations.

Conclusion:

The closing ceremony of the 20-day Hospitality Training for Women with Disabilities of Kaski was successfully held in the presence of tourism entrepreneurs and hospitality stakeholders from Pokhara. The event served as a valuable platform to sensitize employers on the importance of inclusive hiring and to recognize the potential of persons with disabilities who possess the skills and dedication required in the hospitality industry.
