Interaction Program on: “Challenges and Opportunities on Employability and Economic Rights of Young Women with Disabilities

Access Planet in collaboration with National Youth Council Lumbini and in the funding support of Tewa and Gates Foundation organized short Interaction Program with Stakeholders on “Challenges and Opportunities on Employability and Economic Rights of Young Women with Disabilities” at Butwal of Lumbini Province on 19th January 2022. The program emphasized discussion on present gaps and future possibilities in regards to employment, self-employment and economic upliftment of youths and young women with disabilities.

The interaction program aimed to explore the existing policies and programs of government, challenges and incites of private sector and to establish the ground of cooperation between government, private sector and disability experts in promotion of employment and self-employment of youths and women with disabilities.

The program was honored with the presence of Madhav Paudel, chairperson of Rupandehi Industries Association as Chief Guest and business persons, entrepreneurs, education representatives and disability rights experts were present as the guest in this interaction program.

The chief guest of the Program launched the research book and video documentary prepared and published by Access Planet Organization on the title “Employment Status of Young Women with Disabilities.”

In the interaction program, commitments were gathered from the stakeholders on promoting the employment and self-employment of young women with disabilities at the provincial level.
