leadership training for girls and young women with disabilities_Sudurpaschim Province

Access Planet Organization organized one day “Leadership training for girls and young women with disabilities on the 30^th and 31^st March 2024 in Dhangadhi. This training majorly aimed to empower the girls and young women with disabilities with leadership skills to build their confidence providing resilience to fight for the rights and justice of women with disabilities. training that was conducted in funding support of Frida.

The sessions conducted in this training are as follows:

• Group Formation and Team Building
• Leadership, Characteristics, and Its Values
• Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Equality and Value\
• Important skills for effective communication
• Public Speaking and Personality Development
• Act related to Persons with Disabilities (ARPD)
• Gender gender roles and intersectionality
• CRPD and its linkage with SDG’s

The closing of the two days interaction was done by reflecting upon the training sessions. All of the participants shared the pros and cons of the training and also shared the gratitude to the fellow friends, trainers and organizers. Finally, the two days leadership training was concluded by distributing the certificate of completion.

Outputs:

1. 21 girls and young women with disabilities were capacitated with leadership skills and skills related to gender and laws to become an impactful leader.
2. The training contributed in strengthening the movement of young women with diverse disabilities
