“PowerPoint, Effective Communication, and Presentation Skills Training for Visually Impaired Girls and Young Women”_ Kathmandu

Access Planet Organization, with the support of Global Fund for Women, conducted training titled “PowerPoint, Effective Communication, and Presentation Skills Training for Visually Impaired Girls and Young Women.” at Sital Chautari Restaurant, Kathmandu, Bagmati Province. This training aimed at providing 14 visually impaired girls and young women with PowerPoint and presentation skills, enhancing their access to technology. The training was facilitated by Mr. Shiva Kumar Agrawal, a board member, and Ms. Laxmi Nepal, Executive Director of Access Planet Organization.

Objectives:

• To equip visually impaired girls and young women with the necessary skills to create and present PowerPoint presentations.
• To enhance access to technology for visually impaired women, empowering them to utilize it effectively.
• To enable effective communication and presentation on the public platform.

Training Content:

• Introduction to PowerPoint
• Reading, writing, and preparing slides in PowerPoint
• Different types of slide
• Font, Font size, cut/copy/paste and delete slide
• Different views of PowerPoint (Normal, slide sorter, and slide show)
• Shortcut keys for PowerPoint
• Control + M for adding a new slide
• Changing slide in normal view (Control + Page Up/ Page Down)
• Changing slide in slide sorter view (Left and Right Arrow Keys)
• Changing slide in slide show view (space and backspace)

Outputs:

• 14 Participants were empowered with the necessary skills to create and present PowerPoint Presentations
• Practical demonstrations equipped participants with the skills and confidence to present on bigger platforms.
• Partcipants’ access to technology was enhanced, enabling them to utilize it more effectively.
