Two Days Career counseling session was organized on 6th and 7th Sep, in the hall of Tourism Board, Pradarshani Marga, Kathmandu. Young blind and visually impaired persons who were either studying in grade 11/12 or recently completed grade 12 were the participants. This career counseling aimed to provide the direction to participants to identify and pursue their career. Blind and visually impaired students of Nepal specially after completing their high school are found often being confused regarding their career. There is found lack of guidance to them on their career possibilities since mainstream career counseling centers of Nepal and even the parents and teachers lack knowledge on the possible careers for visually impaired youths. In this context, this counseling session made the youths aware on the possible subjects that they can study, opportunities abroad to study, job skills required in the present market and made them aware about the national and international laws being based on which they can fight for their employment. The participants who were enthusiastic but were confused on their career before counseling, got some direction on determining, planning and preparing for their successful career.
