Computer Based Skill Development Training for Youth with Disabilities

Access Planet Organization held 15 days Computer Based Skill Development Training for Youth with Disabilities for the youth with disabilities from 28th April to 15th May 2023 in support of Social Development Ministry of Bagmati province and Red cross Society,Balkot Branch. The primary goal of the training is to help people with disabilities improve their computer-based employment skills. There were total 10 participants, including temporary and permanent resident of Kathmandu.

This program covered following topics:-

• Professional email writing.
• Office Setup (including printing/scanning/photocopy)
• Letter writing (Invitation letter/ Leave letter/Resignation letter writing)
• E-documentation and hard copy documentation
• Career Counselling
• Office documentation and file management: Attendance sheet and transportation sheet
• Formal Program handling (Practical/Theoretical)
• PowerPoint Presentation (Practical/ Theoretical)
• Writing CV and Cover Letter
• Communication and Interview skills (Practical/ Theoretical)
• Report writing (Practical/ Theoretical)
• Nepali Typing
• Financial statement preparation
• Event management (Practical/ Theoretical)

Outcomes:-

- Ten youths with disabilities were successful in learning computer-based employment-related skills.

- Every participant was inspired to advance their careers in the days to come.

- Participants' levels of positivity and confidence increased.
