Access Planet in the funding support of Gates Foundation organized short Interaction Program with Stakeholders on “Challenges and Opportunities on Employability and Economic Rights of Young Women with Disabilities” at Lumbini Province, Nepalgunj on 21th January 2022. The program emphasized discussion on present gaps and future possibilities in regards to employment, self-employment and economic upliftment of youths and young women with disabilities.
The interaction program aimed to explore the existing policies and programs of government, challenges and incites of private sector and to establish the ground of cooperation between government, private sector and disability experts in promotion of employment and self-employment of youths and women with disabilities. The program was honored with the presence of guests including mayor, prominent business personalities and entrepreneurs and disability rights experts.
The program had the research presentation and demonstration of video documentary on the economic rights and employability of young women with disabilities in Nepal. In the interaction program, commitments were gathered from the stakeholders on promoting the employment and self-employment of young women with disabilities at the provincial level.
