"Recreation Program for women with disabilities on the Occasion of Teej Festival."

On August 27, 2022, Access Planet Organization celebrated Teej special recreational program in collaboration with the Bhaktapur Blind Association in Everest English School of Bhaktapur. Forty Five participants attended this program, including volunteers and both permanent and temporary residential women with disability of Bhaktapur district.
The initial opening of this program was conducted by exchanging wishes among each other’s. Serially the honoring program was carried out where Bidya Raj Bhandari, who has always worked to promote education for persons with disabilities, was honored at this occasion for her ongoing support throughout our journey. Similarly Gyani Maya Shrestha, who as a single blind lady was successful in supporting herself through self-employment was also acknowledged for her hard work and dedication.
Each participant fully enjoyed this session and demonstrated their singing and dancing abilities. Finally, the program was ended with some dance performance to cherish the Teej festival.
Outcomes:-
- Honored Bidya Raj Bhandari and Gyani Maya Shrestha on the occasion of teej, the festival of women, for their kind contributions to the field of disabilities which motivated them to work more dedicatedly in near future.
- The participants enjoyed their recreational rights and exchanged the bond of sisterhood.
- The Teej program was immensely enjoyed and greatly appreciated by all of the participants.
